Sope Creek Bridge Ribbon-Cutting is Oct. 25

That portion of Paper Mill Road has been closed since late May.

After five months of repairs, the new Sope Creek Bridge on Paper Mill Road is nearly complete.

The $1.4 million replacement project is slated to be finished by Oct. 25, and that's when a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place.

The office of District 2 Cobb Commissioner Bob Ott announced Friday that the Cobb Department of Transportation event is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the bridge site.

Traffic detours remain in effect until then, with commuters mainly using Lower Roswell as an alternate but also being asked to consider Johnson Ferry Road and Old Canton Road (see attached map).
