Shortened East Cobb Road Work Schedule for Christmas Week
Some projects also will be on hiatus until after the first of the new year.
Limited road construction work will take place on Monday and Tuesday around East Cobb, with projects suspended for the rest of the week and most of next week in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Here's a summary of the work that will be going on, with information provided by Cobb commissioners JoAnn Birrell and Bob Ott:
Old Sewell Road Sidewalks Construction
The contractor is not planning to work this weekend, Dec. 21-22.
- Holt Road to Old Canton Road - Monday, Dec. 23 through Friday, Jan. 3. Contractor will have limited activities including wall construction, grading, and some utility relocations. No work is planned from Wednesday, Dec. 25 through Wednesday, Jan. 1.
Lower Roswell Road Construction
Contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Dec. 21 and 22.

- No work is planned from Wednesday Dec. 25, through Wednesday Jan. 1.
- Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, Dec. 23, through Friday, Jan. 3. This section of Lower Roswell Road is substantially complete. Contractor is working on punch list.
- Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Monday, Dec. 23, through Friday, Jan. 3. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open. Contractor will continue wall construction on Lower Roswell Road and concrete work and grading for the new roundabout. Utility companies continue to relocate services. EXPECT DELAYS
