Portion of Robinson Road Closed

The road is closed between Roswell Road East and the entrance to Fullers Park due to downed power lines and a broken utility pole from Wednesday's storm.

Wednesday night's severe thunderstorm in East Cobb shut down a portion of Robinson Road this morning. 

The portion of the road from Roswell Road east (near ) to the entrance of is closed to traffic due to downed power lines and a broken utility pole, according to a notice from Cobb County government. 

The county advises motorists to use Old Canton Road as an alternate to reach Roswell Road.

At 7 a.m., the county said the closure along Robinson Road stretched from Creekwood Drive to Robinson Walk. That notice was updated around 9:30 a.m., to expand the closure between Fox Hollow Parkway and the park entrance. 

Stormy weather is expected again for Cobb and the north metro Atlanta area today, with a strong chance of severe thunderstorms in the afternoon.
