Ott, Cupid to Hold Braves-Related Town Halls
The two Cobb commissioners will meet with constituents Monday, the day before the scheduled vote on a stadium deal.
Two Cobb County commissioners will be having town hall meetings on Monday to get public input about the proposed Atlanta Braves stadium project.
Commissioner Bob Ott, who represents the Cumberland Mall area where the stadium would be located, will meet at 7 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners room, located on the second floor of 100 Cherokee St., Marietta.
Commissioner Lisa Cupid also will hold her Monday town hall at 7 p.m. at the South Cobb Community Center, 620 Lion Club Drive, Mableton.
Ott and Cupid have been the most guarded in their comments about how they may vote on Tuesday, when the commissioners will have before them a memorandum of understanding with the Braves.
Cobb Commission Chairman Tim Lee, who worked secretly with Braves officials for four months before revealing the plans last week, has committed $300 million from the county for the proposed $672 million stadium for the Braves.
On Thursday, North Cobb Commissioner Helen Goreham will have a previously scheduled town hall meeting at 7 p.m. at the new Cobb Senior Wellness Center, 1150 Powder Springs Street, Marietta.
