New East Cobb Roundabout Nearly Complete

Weather permitting, traffic will be shifted on Wednesday to the new configuration where Lower Roswell, Willeo and Timber Ridge roads intersect.

The following road construction updates were released Friday by Cobb Commissioners Bob Ott and JoAnn Birrell: 

Lower Roswell Road Construction

Contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Nov. 16 and 17.

  • Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Nov. 22. This section of Lower Roswell Road is substantially complete. Contractor is working on punch list.
  • Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Monday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Nov. 22. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open. On Wednesday Nov. 20 traffic will be shifted to the new roundabout configuration, weather permitting. Contractor will continue concrete work and grading for the new roundabout. Utility companies continue to relocate services. EXPECT DELAYS


Roswell Road (SR120) Construction - GDOT

Providence Road to Robinson Road – This GDOT project will require periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open in each direction at all times. EXPECT DELAYS


Shiloh Road/Shallowford Road Construction
The contractor is planning to work Saturday, Nov. 16, placing asphalt paving between Wooten Lake Road and Bells Ferry Road depending on weather.EXPECT DELAYS. The contractor is not planning to work Sunday, Nov. 17.

  • Shiloh/Shallowford Road from Wade Green Road to Canton Road - Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor continues grading operations, placing curb, guardrail work, and roadway base construction. EXPECT DELAYS

Shallowford Road Sidewalk Construction
The contractor is not planning to work this weekend, Nov 16-17.
  • Tanbark Place to Blackwell Road - Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor continues final dressing, grassing and drainage work.

Old Sewell Road Sidewalks Construction
The contractor is not planning to work this weekend, Nov 16-17.
  • Holt Road to Old Canton Road - Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor continues grading, installing storm drainage, and water main. Utilities will be relocating services.


Road Resurfacing

Asphalt paving operations are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Nov. 22 on the following roads: EXPECT DELAYS

  • Sewell Mill Road from Roswell Road to Johnson Ferry Road
  • Beech Haven Trail from Log Cabin Drive to Cumberland Parkway
  • Log Cabin Drive from Dead End to Beech Haven Trail
  • Indian Hills Subdivision between Indian Hills Parkway, Fairfield Drive and Lower Roswell Road
