Marietta 5K Run to Alter Traffic
Here are some updates from Cobb DOT on road closures and projects that may affect your commute.
If you're planning to be in the downtown Marietta area this weekend, keep in mind some road closings because of the First Connection 5K Run.
On Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., the left lane of Cherokee Street north of Lemon Street will remain open for traffic, as will the right lane of Church Street. All of Margaret Avenue is closed to traffic, as is the westbound lane of Chicopee Drive.

-- Lane closure of southbound Barrett Parkway. The right turn lane is closed onto Stilesboro Road due to construction of a wall. Closures are part of an ongoing construction project to widen Barrett Parkway. Expect delays between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
-- In East Cobb, Sewell Mill Road is closed between Roswell Road and East Piedmont Road until Nov. 18 for storm water-related construction.
