Lower Roswell Project Open House

Cobb DOT officials will be on hand at the East Cobb Library Tuesday to answer questions about improvements at the Johnson Ferry Road intersection.

An open house for forthcoming improvements at the Lower Roswell Road and Johnson Ferry Road intersection will take place on Tuesday.

Cobb DOT officials will be on hand from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the East Cobb Library, 4880 Lower Roswell Road, in the Parkaire Landing Shopping Center.

This will be the second public availaibility to answer questions about the $8 million project, which is being funded as part of the 2011 Cobb Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).

An earlier open house took place in November.

The project, which is slated to begin in the summer of 2013, will improve or add 11-foot through lanes and two-way left turn lanes, add a raised median in certain locations and bicycle lanes, replace existing sidewalks and add 10 foot lanes on a proposed frontage road connecting the existing intersection at Davidson Road.

The open house will provide the public an opportunity to view proposed improvements and express interest and concerns about the proposed project.

There will be no formal presentation. Written statements from the public will be accepted until Jan. 22 and may be submitted to bryan.ricks@cobbcounty.org.

All comments will be presented to the Cobb Board of Commissioners.
