East Cobbers Nominated for County Posts

East Cobb Civic Association president Jill Flamm and East Cobb school and civic activist Karen Hallacy have been nominated by Commissioner Bob Ott.

Two noted East Cobb civic leaders have been selected for appointment to Cobb government boards.

Their nominations are scheduled for action at Tuesday's Cobb Board of Commissioners meeting.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the 2nd floor board room of the BOC Building, 100 Cherokee Street, Marietta.

District 2 commissioner Bob Ott has nominated Jill Flamm, the current president of the East Cobb Civic Association, for a newly created spot on the Cobb Recreation Board.

Ott also has nominated Karen Hallacy to succeed former commissioner Thea Powell on the Development Authority of Cobb County

Hallacy, who has been involved in many civic and educational organizations in East Cobb, the county and the state, is a lobbyist for the Georgia PTA. She also was named the East Cobb Citizen of the Year for 2012 by the East Cobb Area Council of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.

Powell is now Ott's full-time assistant.
