East Cobb Road Work Update

The following information was released Friday by the offices of Cobb District 2 Commissioner Bob Ott and District 3 Commissioner JoAnn Birrell: 

Paper Mill Road Bridge Replacement

Paper Mill Road Bridge at Sope Creek is closed through Oct. 25, 2013. 
The new bridge will include a six foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to National Park Service trails. A signed detour route will be provided during construction. 

Now that school is in session expect extended delays on Lower Roswell Road (Detour Route).  Plan for alternate routes during these hours. See attached map.

• Paper Mill Road at Sope Creek  – Saturday, Sept. 14 through Friday, Sept. 20. The contractor will continue work on bridge deck and wing walls. Utilities will be relocating services.

Lower Roswell Road Construction

Contractor is planning to work Saturday – Sept. 14 completing grading operations with intermittent lane closures. Contractor is not planning to work Sunday – Sept. 15

• Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20. This section of Lower Roswell Road is substantially complete. Contractor is working on punch list.
• Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open. The contractor will continue grading, wall construction, and work at roundabout. Utility relocations should not affect your service. EXPECT DELAYS

Little Willeo Road Sidewalks Construction

The contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Sept. 14 and 15

• Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass – Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open at all times. Project is substantially complete. Contractor will be working on punch list including guardrail installation.  

• Jacksons Creek Bluff to Lower Roswell Road - Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20. This project is substantially complete. The contractor will be working on punchlist items.

• Holt Road to Old Canton Road – Monday, Sept. 16 through Friday, Sept. 20. Contractor will continue installing storm drainage and water main. Utilities will be relocating services.

Roswell Road (SR120) Construction - GDOT
Providence Road to Robinson Road – This GDOT project will require periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open in each direction at all times. EXPECT DELAYS

Road Resurfacing

Asphalt paving operations are scheduled for next week, Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20** on the following roads. One lane will be open at all times.EXPECT DELAYS

• Sewell Mill Road from Roswell Road to Johnson Ferry Road
• Powers Road from Woodlawn Drive to Johnson Ferry Road
• Fairfield Drive from Lower Roswell Road to Indian Hills Parkway
• New Paces Ferry Road from Paces Ferry Road to Paces Ferry Road
