East Cobb Road Work Update

Don't forget that Johnson Ferry Road will be closed Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon between Roswell Road and Lower Roswell Road due to the EAST COBBER Parade. 

The following information on upcoming road work in East Cobb were provided on Friday by Cobb Commissioners Bob Ott and JoAnn Birrell: 

Paper Mill Road Bridge Replacement

Paper Mill Road Bridge at Sope Creek is closed through Oct. 25, 2013. 
The new bridge will include a six foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to National Park Service trails. A signed detour route will be provided during construction. Now that school is in session expect extended delays on Lower Roswell Road (Detour Route).  Plan for alternate routes during these hours.

• Paper Mill Road at Sope Creek  – Saturday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Sept. 27. The contractor will continue work on the bridge deck and water line installation. Utilities will be relocating services.

Lower Roswell Road Construction

 Contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Sept. 21 and 22.

• Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27. This section of Lower Roswell Road is substantially complete. Contractor is working on punch list.
• Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, Sept. 27. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open. The contractor will continue grading, wall construction and work at roundabout. Utility relocations should not affect your service.EXPECT DELAYS.

Little Willeo Road Sidewalks Construction

The contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Sept. 21 and 22.

• Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass – Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open at all times. Project is substantially complete. Contractor will be working on punch list including final grading and grassing.   

• Holt Road to Old Canton Road - Monday, Sept. 23 through Friday, 

Roswell Road (SR120) Construction - GDOT
Providence Road to Robinson Road – This GDOT project will require periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open in each direction at all times. EXPECT DELAYS.

Road Resurfacing

Asphalt paving operations are scheduled for next week, Monday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 27** on the following roads. One lane will be open at all times. EXPECT DELAYS.

• Night Work – Lower Roswell Road from Roswell Road to South Marietta Parkway.
• • Bells Ferry Road from Cobb Pkwy to I-575 Bridge.
