East Cobb Road Work Update

As East Cobb Patch reported Friday, the Johnson Ferry-Paper Mill Road area is not the place to be this coming Wednesday. 

That's because five massive beams will be hauled to the Sope Creek Bridge project, coming up Johnson Ferry from the Chattahoochee River, and it will take most of the day to do so. 

Traffic will be halted intermittently at several intersections on Paper Mill east of the bridge site.

The bridge replacement project continues through Oct. 25.

Here's a summary of other road work going on in the coming week, from the offices of District 2 Cobb Commissioner Bob Ott and District 3 Commissioner JoAnn Birrell: 

Lower Roswell Road Construction

Contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Aug. 31 through Sept. 2.

• Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6. This section of Lower Roswell Road is substantially complete. Contractor is working on punch list.
• Willow Point Parkway to Timber Ridge Road – Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6 Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open. The contractor will continue grading, installing storm drainage and work at roundabout. Utility relocations should not affect your service. EXPECT DELAYS

Little Willeo Road Sidewalks Construction

The contractor is not planning to work this weekend – Aug. 31 through 
Sept. 2.

• Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass – Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open at all times. Project is substantially complete. Contractor will be working on punch list including guardrail installation.

• Jacksons Creek Bluff to Lower Roswell Road - Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6. Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open at all times. The contractor will continue grading, placing sod and installing handrail on bridge. 

Road Resurfacing

Asphalt paving operations are scheduled for next week, Tuesday, Sept. 3 through Friday, Sept. 6** on the following roads. One lane will be open at all times. EXPECT DELAYS

• Night Work – Johnson Ferry Road from Roswell Road to Lower Roswell Road
