East Cobb Road Work Update

Paving continues in the coming week on Lower Roswell Road, east of Johnson Ferry Road.

Lower Roswell Road Construction

  • Davidson Road to Willow Point Parkway – Monday, April 22, through Friday, April 26: Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Davidson Road and Willow Point Parkway with one lane open for your commute. The contractor will be grading, placing concrete and asphalt paving. EXPECT DELAYS.
  • Willow Point Pkwy to Timber Ridge Road – Monday through Friday: Also, expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Willow Point Parkway and Timber Ridge Road with one lane remaining open for your commute. The contractor will be grading, installing storm drainage crossings and placing concrete. Utility relocations should not affect your service. EXPECT DELAYS.

  • Karls Gate Drive to Lake Fjord Pass – Monday through Friday: Expect intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open while the contractor continues grading, placing concrete sidewalk, and water main installation. Utility relocation should not affect your service.

May 2013 Paper Mill Road Bridge Replacement

  • Paper Mill Road at Sope Creek  – Monday through Friday: Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Paper Mill Road at Sope Creek with one lane remaining open for your commute. Initial utility work will continue in preparation for bridge replacement this summer. EXPECT DELAYS.

After school lets out in May, Cobb County DOT will begin work on replacing the bridge over Sope Creek on Paper Mill Road. The new bridge will include a six foot sidewalk on the south side, providing access to the National Park Service trails. This project will result in closing Paper Mill Road at the bridge for approximately four months beginning once school breaks for the summer. Signed detour routes will be provided during construction.

I-285 Top-End Resurfacing Project - GDOT

Georgia DOT continues working on a $56 million resurfacing project on
I-285. Crews will resurface 10 miles of I-285 between Paces Ferry Road in Cobb County and Ashford Dunwoody Road in DeKalb County. Most work will take place nights and weekends. The project is scheduled to be completed in August 2013. EXPECT DELAYS. Please click on the link for more information.
