Deal Reappoints Maureen Olson

The East Cobb resident will remain on a board reviewing disability services.

Gov. Nathan Deal has reappointed East Cobb resident Maureen L. Olson to the Georgia Office of Disability Services Ombudsman Medical Review Group, the governor's office announced Friday.

The Medical Review Group, created in 2008, reviews deaths in state hospitals and state-operated community residential facilities.

Olson is board-certified in emergency medicine and is the medical director of student health services at , according to the governor's announcement. She is a past president of the Georgia College of Emergency Physicians and a member of the board of directors. She also serves on the national steering committee and the national council for the American College of Emergency Physicians.

She and her husband, Timothy, have two sons and a grandson and are expecting a granddaughter this month.
