Cobb Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Decatur man wanted for robbing an East Cobb jewelry store in October.
Officer Michael Bowman of the Cobb Police Department said in a release issued late Friday afternoon that Cortez Deshun Lewis, 21, is in the Fulton County Jail awaiting extradition to Cobb.
The warrant against Lewis includes charges of armed robbery and the possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Bowman said Lewis has been jailed in Fulton since Dec. 10.
Cobb Police said a man entered the Edward Johns Jewelers at 1205 Johnson Ferry Road, in the Woodlawn Square Shopping Center, around 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 25 and asked to see a specific piece of jewelry.
When a store employee removed the requested item from the display case, the man pulled out a gun and demanded the jewelry, according to police.
After leaving the store with the jewelry, police said the man got into a red Honda driven by a black female, and the suspects headed northbound on Johnson Ferry Road.
Cobb Police described the male suspect as black, six feet tall, thin and wearing dark clothing and carrying a handgun.
