Warrant: 2 Pull Guns on East Cobb Girl, 8

The alleged incident occurred between 4:48 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. April 12 at The Worthington apartments, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 34-year-old Stone Mountain man who allegedly broke into an East Cobb apartment and forced an 8-year-old girl from room to room at gunpoint.

The alleged incident occurred between 4:48 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. April 12 at The Worthington, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

Once inside one of the units, Herbert Maurice Belle III and an unknown accomplice allegedly pulled out handguns, demanded information about the father of one of the girls and made threats, according to the warrant.

"The unknown suspect made statements that he would shoot (one of the girls) if she didn't answer his questions," a Cobb police officer wrote.

When Belle and the accomplice realized that the man they were looking for was not at the apartment, they asked the 8-year-old girl and another girl inside the apartment "where the money was," the officer wrote.

The duo allegedly ransacked the apartment, took a Samsung Android cellular phone, stole $1,000 and left the scene, according to the warrant.

No one was injured.

Belle faces charges that include burglary in the first degree, cruelty to children in the first degree and armed robbery.

His criminal history includes at least four arrests in DeKalb County, according to online jail records there.
