Slain Man's Friends Raise Funds

East Cobb's Brazilian community has collected nearly $10,000 to have Neriton Amaral's body returned home for burial.

The friends of a Brazilian man at an East Cobb restaurant earlier this month have raised enough money to have a proper burial.

Ana Daves, a friend of Neriton Amaral, said Monday that weekend fundraising events have netted nearly $10,000.

Amaral, who went by the nickname Timbete, died on Oct. 16 after getting into an incident in the parking lot of the Los Bravos restaurant on Powers Ferry Road.
