Three Injured in Marietta Crash

A 19-year-old woman is in critical condition after a Wednesday night accident on an Interstate 75 entrance ramp from the Canton Road connector.

Marietta Police are investigating a single-car accident Wednesday night that has left a female passenger in critical condition and injured two others. 

Leah Giammarva, 19, of Marietta, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital after the accident, which took place on an entrance ramp to Interstate 75 from the Canton Road Connector shortly before 11 p.m., police said. 

Also taken to Kennestone were the driver of the car, Hannah O'Donnell, 19, and Michael Compton, 26, both of Marietta. Police said they were treated and released Thursday morning.

According to Marietta Police, the white 2006 Nissan 350Z O'Donnell was driving was rounding a curve on the northbound ramp to I-75 when she lost control. The car rolled down a hill several times and into a drainage access. Compton, a backseat passenger, was ejected from the vehicle before it stopped near a tree and Giammarva, who was riding in the front, suffered unspecified serious injuries, police said. 

Marietta Police said speed may have been a factor and that charges are being reviewed.
