Teen Critical After East Cobb Accident

A 16-year-old girl and a friend were hit by a car Monday night crossing the Johnson Ferry-Shallowford intersection on foot.

A teenager is in critical condition after being hit by a car Monday night as she and a friend crossed a busy East Cobb intersection, according to a report by WSB-TV.

The station reported that the injured teen, an 18-year-old girl, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with severe head injuries after the accident, which occurred as she and a 19-year-old male were crossing the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Shallowford Road.

The male was not injured and the WSB report indicated that the driver of the Honda Accord that struck the pedestrians was not at fault because she had the right-of-way.

The Marietta Daily Journal reported the pedestrians were identified as Austin Leake of Decatur and 18-year-old Darion Elizabeth Hugh-Sam of Marietta and that charges would be pending.

The newspaper said the motorist, 82-year-old Evelyn Tauchert, was not injured and refused treatment.

I'll be there; rabbi Alper should be good (his You Tube videos are entertaining). CongratulationsRead More to Henry Hene and the Habitat coalition for doing such wonderful work and promoting "We Build to Coexist, We Coexist to Build." Congratulations to Addie and Harvey Schneider -- both are the definition of mensch.

Hurray for the "old school" which just means having a few manners. Ms. Smith alwaysRead More seems to present three facts after what seems to be extensive research. People can disagree without being rude or spouting half truths. I'm glad we still have some ethical and honest people in our midst.
