Police Make Arrest in Akers Mill Bank Robbery

Atlanta man charged by Cobb police in connection with Wednesday heist.

Cobb police have charged an Atlanta man in connection with the Wednesday robbery of a bank in the Cumberland Mall area. 

Cobb police spokesman Officer Joe Hernandez said Jesse Clarence Odum, 24, is in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center after being charged with one count of robbery.

According to police, a man entered the Bank of America location at 3057 Akers Mill Road shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday and approached a teller, then presented a note demanding money. The man fled the scene after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.
