Pedestrian Killed in East Cobb Accident
A 79-year-old woman was crossing Roswell Road east of Old Canton Road Wednesday night.
An East Cobb woman crossing Roswell Road Wednesday night was killed after being struck by a car.
Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said in a release that Maria D. Roxo, 79, was pronounced dead after being rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
He said that Roxo, for reasons unknown, entered Roswell Road on foot shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday and was hit by a white Nissan 300 ZX driven by a 25-year-old Marietta woman, who was traveling eastbound on Roswell east of Old Canton Road.

Pierce said charges are not expected to be filed in the case, but that anyone with information about the accident is asked to call Cobb Police at 770-499-3987.
