According to the Smyrna Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, it received information from the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) on May 8, 2013 regarding possible sexual abuse occurring at 2164 Wells Drive in Smyrna. 

Michael Joseph Johnson is accused of committing the offense of child molestation on a juvenile (under sixteen (16) years of age) at several different locations in Cobb County over the course of several years (August 2005-December 2010).

The juvenile victim, who is the accused’s stepdaughter, became pregnant in February 2010, which produced a child born on or about the 12th of November 2010. 

Johnson was arrested earlier this month after Smyrna police say he sexually assaulted a female teenage family member.

A Florida man was arrested earlier this month after Smyrna police say he sexually assaulted a female teenage family member.


CBS Atlanta reports that Michael Joseph Johnson, 33, of Fort Walton Beach, allegedly raped and impregnated his underage stepdaughter.

According to Cobb County jail records, Johnson was arrested on March 1 at his Fort Walton Beach home and was processed into Cobb’s jail on Tuesday of this week. He is facing three counts of child molestation, one count of incest, one count of aggravated sexual battery, one count of rape, and two counts of first-degree cruelty to children.

Bond has not been set.
