Missing East Cobb Man Found Safe in Alabama

Cobb Police had issued a Mattie's Call for Francis Judson Carter, 79.

An elderly East Cobb man who went missing Friday has been found safe in Alabama, according to Cobb Police.

Sgt. Dana Pierce said that Cobb Police were notified by authorities in Rainsville, Ala., that Francis Judson Carter, 79, was discovered in good condition Friday night.

Cobb Police had issued a Mattie's Call alert when family members reported Carter missing on Friday morning from his home on Monticello Way, located near Terrell Mill Park. 

Pierce said that according to his family, Carter had been experiencing early signs of dementia. 

Rainsville is located near Fort Payne in northeast Alabama and close to Interstate 59.
