Missing East Cobb Woman Found Safe in Rockmart

Bettie Lee Holley, 86, had driven away from Indian Hills home Wednesday afternoon.

An elderly East Cobb woman who went missing from her home Wednesday afternoon has been found safe in west Georgia.

Betty Lee Holley, 86, was discovered unharmed at a convenience store in Rockmart around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, nearly eight hours after her disappearance, Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

Mrs. Holley, who suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia, drove away from her residence on Ridgewater Drive sometime after 2 p.m. in a black 2002 Honda Accord, he said, and Cobb police issued a Mattie's Call alert. 

Sgt. Pierce said Mrs. Holley was transported back to Cobb by authorities in Rockmart.
