Marietta SunTrust Bank Robbed by Gunman

Incident occurred at Sandy Plains Road bank on Wednesday morning.

Marietta police say a Sandy Plains Road SunTrust Bank was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday morning.

According to Officer David Baldwin, a tall black man in his 20s, wearing all black clothing, including a hoodie, and dark blue bandana, entered the bank at approximately 9:40 a.m.

While brandishing a black semiautomatic handgun, the suspect demanded money from the teller at the bank, located at 1840 Sandy Plains Rd. He made off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were no injuries reported and the investigation is ongoing.
