Marietta Man Pleads Guilty to Smyrna Aggravated Assault

According to Cobb District Attorney Vic Reynolds, Karelle Latrell Hambright has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and a firearms charge, and will spend five years behind bars.

Assistant District Attorney John Pursley said that shortly after midnight on March 25, 2013, Hambright went to his uncle’s house on Davie Circle in Smyrna and pointed a handgun in his uncle’s face.
As his trial was scheduled to get underway on Monday, Hambright, 26, of Marietta, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.
After accepting the plea, Cobb Superior Court Judge A. Gregory Poole sentenced Hambright to a total of 15 years, with five years to serve in custody and the rest on probation.Find out what's happening in East Cobbwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
