No criminal charges are expected to be filed in connection with the wreck that also included drivers from Alpharetta and Acworth.

Cobb police say a Marietta man died Monday morning after apparently turning into the path of a truck near the intersection of Sandy Plains and Wigley roads in East Cobb.

Kevin Palmer, 57, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord northbound on Sandy Plains and was attempting to turn left onto westbound Wigley during a green signal.

According to Sgt. Dana Pierce, for reasons unknown, Palmer pulled into the path of a 2013 International box truck, which was traveling southbound on Sandy Plains. After striking the Honda on the passenger side door, the box truck and the Honda redirected to the southwest corner of the intersection where the box truck struck a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck.
