Leads Sought in Cobb Robbery

A Fifth Third Bank branch on Powers Ferry Road was held up on Thursday.

A Powers Ferry Road bank was robbed this morning, and investigators with the Cobb County Police Department hope someone recognizes the man captured in surveillance images and calls them.

About 10:40 a.m. today, a man wearing a gray sweatshirt, Chicago Bulls baseball cap, sunglasses and a long curly wig walked into the Fifth Third Bank at 1920 Powers Ferry Road, said Officer Mike Bowman, a spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department.

"According to investigators, the perpetrator ... immediately approached a teller demanding money," he said. "While the teller was gathering the money, the perpetrator indicated that he had a weapon but never presented one."
