East Cobb Standoff Leads to Arrest

The suspect is facing multiple charges of aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

An East Cobb man is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center after firing shots at law enforcement officers who came to arrest him at his home early Monday.

The Marietta Daily Journal reported that Michael Lee Lightsey, of 437 Guilford Circle, was taken into custody around 4:30 a.m. Monday following a three-hour standoff.

Lightsey is being held without bond on four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of making terroristic threats, according to arrest records with the Cobb Sheriff's Office.

The MDJ report said that police and deputies came to arrest him on a warrant for one of the terroristic threats charges when he opened fire, but Lightsey later surrendered after speaking with a police negotiator.
