Cobb Police Spokesman Officer Mike Bowman issued a statement around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday saying that the unidentified victim was taken to a hospital with "non-life-threatening injuries" and that the three suspects who led the chase have been arrested.

The identities of the victim and the suspects have not yet been released.

Bowman said Cobb 911 dispatchers received numerous calls late this morning in response to hearing shots fired and cars racing near a home on Lamplighter Lane, which is located off Huntsman Way and Shadowlawn Road.

The chase continued westbound on Lower Roswell Road until the silver Dodge sedan carrying the suspects was forced to stop by police at the intersection of Lower Roswell and the South Marietta Parkway, Bowman said. He said that the suspects then fled the vehicle on foot and into the parking lot at the nearby Eastgate Shopping Center.

Bowman said a Cobb officer fell and seriously injured his leg during the pursuit but all three suspects were apprehended at the scene. Bowman said the officer, who was not named, also was taken to a hospital.

"We still don't know what transpired" at the Fox Hills residence, Bowman said, in response to questions about a possible home invasion.

Cobb police are continuing the investigation.
