East Cobb OB/GYN Fire Probed

Flames engulfed a Powers Ferry Road office building that houses a clinic providing abortion services.

Cobb Fire and federal investigators are continuing to look into the cause of a fire at a Powers Ferry Road office building Wednesday afternoon.

A building at the Governor's Ridge complex sustained "extensive damage," Cobb Fire spokeswoman Lt. Denell Boyd told multiple media outlets.

According to CBS Atlanta, Boyd said 20 firefighters were needed to put out the flames in the building that includes an obstetrics and gynecology practice owned by Dr. William McBrayer. There were no injuries reported.
