East Cobb Jewelry Store Robbed

Cobb Police are searching for a suspect following Thursday's incident at Edward-Johns Jewelers on Johnson Ferry Road.

An East Cobb jewelry store was robbed on Thursday afternoon, and Cobb Police are searching for the suspect.

According to Cobb Police Spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce, a man walked into the Edward-Johns Jewelers, 1205 Johnson Ferry Road in the Woodlawn Square Shopping Center, around 3 p.m. and asked an employee to see a specific piece of jewelry.

As the employee opened up the display case, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded that the item be given to him, Pierce said.

The suspect fled the scene with the jewelry in a red Honda driven by a black female occupant, according to Pierce, who said the vehicle was headed northbound on Johnson Ferry Road.

He described the suspect as a black male with a thin build, last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and a gray shirt, and armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Cobb Police at 770-499-3945.
