A motorist who hit three vehicles before crashing on Monday is expected to be charged in the incidents that shut down a busy East Marietta intersection.
Garrett Hamlin, 24, of Norcross, was seriously injured when the white Ford F-150 he was driving slammed into a tree off South Marietta Parkway shortly after noon.
Hamlin was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in stable but serious condition, according to Marietta Police, who said there were no other injuries.
Police said Hamlin first struck another Ford pickup as he was heading southbound on South Marietta Parkway between Lower Roswell Road and Powers Ferry Road.
Hamlin pulled away from that scene, then hit a blue Dodge caravan and a gold Mitsubishi Galant before crashing, according to police.
Marietta Police issued an advisory for motorists to stay away from the area for part of Monday afternoon while they investigated the accidents.
