East Cobb Duo Faces Multiple Drugs and Weapons Charges

Combined, they were arrested on a total of 17 charges.

Two people, including a documented member of the Bloods, were arrested Thursday at an East Cobb apartment complex after police found 141.5 grams of suspected marijuana, 18 hydrocodone pills, eight oxycodone pills, $295 worth of ammunition and three stolen firearms inside one unit.

About 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Cobb police executed a search warrant on Terrell Sumpter and Christina Kalpa's unit at The Gardens of East Cobb apartment complex, according to arrest warrants.

They recovered 286 rounds of ammunition, five magazine clips and a extra large bag that contained 63.2 grams of suspected marijuana in a large bag, 48.7 grams of suspected marijuana divided into 69 individually packaged smaller bags, a digital scale, small Ziploc baggies, and small black rubber bands.

"The fact that the marijuana was packaged into individual baggies in small amounts, and was found with the digital scale, the small Ziploc bags, and rubber bands, shows that it was intended for distribution," according to the warrants.

Police also found 20.6 grams of suspected marijuana in a glass container, nine grams of suspected marijuana in a small bag and firearms that were reported stolen earlier this month.

Sumpter, according to his warrant, was identified as a member of the Bloods by a confidential source. He was arrested on charges that include three counts of theft by receiving stolen property (felony) and one count each of theft by receiving stolen property (misdemeanor), criminal gang activity, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of hydrocodone and possession of marijuana.

Kalpa was arrested on similar charges sans the firearm possession and criminal gang activity charges.

Officers were leaving the apartment when they saw her pull into the complex. During a search of her vehicle, police found a small bag containing 5.5 grams of suspected marijuana in the front compartment of the vehicle, which resulted in an additional charge of possession of marijuana less than one ounce, according to her warrant.

Sumpter is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond. Kalpa was released Saturday on a $50,000 bond.
