Cobb Woman with Alzheimer's Found

Evelyn Satterfield, 81, was safe and unharmed along I-85 near Commerce after going missing on Monday afternoon.

An 81-year-old Northeast Cobb woman with Alzheimer’s was reported missing Monday afternoon as the  asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to issue a Mattie’s Call to help find her.

Evelyn Satterfield of the 900 block of Velma Drive disappeared around 2 p.m. Monday while her husband was out of the home for a short time, police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Monday, Pierce said that Commerce police discovered Satterfield safe and unharmed along I-85 near Commerce after her silver 1998 Buick LeSabre ran out of gas.

Family members were enroute to Commerce to bring her back home, Pierce said.
