Cobb Police Make Arrest in Salon Case

The landlord of the Salon Avenue Suites in East Cobb has been charged with unlawful surveillance.

Update (Aug. 12, 12 p.m.) Cobb County police have arrested the owner of the Salon Avenue Suites and charged him with unlawful surveillance.

According to WSB-TV, police identified the landlord of the spa as Mark Allen Storch.

During the initial investigations in July, police seized Storch's Porsche SUV as evidence.

Original Story, July 30:  are continuing their investigation into the placement of a recording device in a private room of a Northeast Cobb salon.

The camera was discovered in a light in Suite 110 of the Salon Avenue Suites on Sandy Plains Road, according to Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce. According to 11 Alive News, women typically received Brazilian wax treatments within the suite in question.

It is currently not know where the images the camera may have captured have been stored, as it appears the owner of the camera successfully made off with the data before the police arrived.

"Until we find the images, we have no evidence that a crime took place," Pierce said.

The man, who police are not identifying because no evidence of a crime has yet surfaced, is the proprietor of the Salon Avenue Suites. 11 Alive has learned that the man is a registered sex offender, with a 2004 charge of aggravated assault with intent to rape on his record.

Crimes like this are not uncommon, said Pierce. Recently, authorities arrested a male nurse who was putting victims under anaesthesia and then performing sexual acts on them.

While the police search for the data that may have come from the camera, they are also asking the public to come forward if they have any evidence that may help build a case.

I'll be there; rabbi Alper should be good (his You Tube videos are entertaining). CongratulationsRead More to Henry Hene and the Habitat coalition for doing such wonderful work and promoting "We Build to Coexist, We Coexist to Build." Congratulations to Addie and Harvey Schneider -- both are the definition of mensch.

Hurray for the "old school" which just means having a few manners. Ms. Smith alwaysRead More seems to present three facts after what seems to be extensive research. People can disagree without being rude or spouting half truths. I'm glad we still have some ethical and honest people in our midst.
