An aspiring model and singer from Detroit was arrested Tuesday in Cartersville for the murder of a convenience store clerk, possibly during a late-night robbery.

Skyy Raven Marie Mims, 21, was arrested around 5 p.m. Tuesday in Bartow County, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Mims is accused of killing the store employee late Sunday, but she was not found until Tuesday afternoon, at a home on Southmont Drive in Cartersville.

The newspaper says Mims tried to run from officers, but was captured. Investigators also found the car Mims was allegedly driving late Sunday — a Kia Soul that had been reported stolen from Michigan. Now, investigators want to know why the aspiring model allegedly ended up at the Kanku’s Express on Airport Road in Dalton, about four miles off I-75, late Sunday night.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation told WXIA TV that Mims is believed to be the person who killed Dahyabhai Kalidas Chaudmari, 37, who was working at the Hi-Tech Fuel gas station at 3385 Airport Road, Sunday night. Robbery may have been a motive.

A customer found Chaudhari's bloody body behind the counter Sunday night. Investigators are not saying how he was killed, but it was apparently not from a gunshot, because there were customers in the store, and no one heard any shots.

Customers and friends stopped by the convenience store on Tuesday to offer their condolences.

"This really hurt me," customer Mike Bishop told WXIA. "Because he was a nice man – every time I came up in there, he would say, 'Hey, Boss.'"

Ron Williamson, a manager for Hi-Tech Fuel who had high praise for Chaudmari, told the Dalton Daily Citizen he was “so glad” to hear the news of Mims’ arrest.

“Thank God that they caught her ... ” he said. “Of course, the justice system will take care of the rest of it.”

Ramey said authorities were still investigating whether Mims and the store clerk knew one another, and, if so, what their connection was.
