3,300 Grams of THC in East Cobb

Authorities said it was added to oil, paste, blocks, lollipops and fudge.

Inside a home near Eastvalley Elementary, East Cobb Middle and Wheeler High schools, police found more than 3,300 grams of a drug that is becoming popular with young users.

Brandt Jennings allegedly extracted 3,376 grams of concentrated THC from marijuana plants and plant material, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. The concentrated THC was added to oil, paste, blocks and lollipops, and baked into fudge, all of which was found early Friday at a home in the 700 block of Counsel Drive.

THC is the active ingredient in marijuana. The concentrated form of THC, called hash oil, is becoming popular with young drug users, according to the Huffington Post and The Record in New Jersey. It offers a faster, more intense high than traditional marijuana.

Jennings was arrested early Friday. He faces charges that include the sale of a schedule I or II controlled substance; the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana; and the purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of a controlled substance.

In addition to the concentrated THC, Jennings allegedly had about 226 grams of marijuana that he intended to distribute, several scales, bags and other packaging materials, records show.

He is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
