2 cats+first litter can produce over 100K kittens in 7 years

I just learned that a pair of cats and their first set of offspring can produce over 100,000 kittens in 7 years!!! We have 500+ requests a month asking us to take in pets.

I’m one angry kitty today.

We’re SORRY that your local no-kill shelter can't help the MINUTE you think it ought to help you. We have 500+ requests a month from the general public, kill shelters, volunteers, etc. asking us to take in pets. The US has 4-6 million animals that die in shelters every year because people don't spay/neuter.

Want limited access shelters to be able to help you faster--then spay your pet the minute it's old enough so it doesn't produce MORE animals that end up in a shelter (and tell every pet owner you know to do the same).

I just learned that a pair of cats and their first set of offspring can produce over 100,000 kittens in 7 years? And you're mad at us in the animal rescue community because you didn't bother to get your cat fixed, it's producing litter after litter and destroying your home with behavioral issues and now you need to "get rid of it today"?
