WALK GEORGIA IS BACK

Walk Georgia is a unique, free 12-week program open to adults, youth, families, schools and community organizations. It is designed to increase physical activity in a fun, interactive, community-oriented way. Walk Georgia’s goals are to: develop regular physical activity habits, get healthier and more physically active and have fun! You can register as an individual or as a team of four. Walk Georgia Spring 2014 is February 1 – April 26.  Registration opens February 1. Visit www.walkgeorgia.org to register yourself or your team.

Logging your physical activities online daily is easy. Simply record the amount of time you do physical activities during the day such as aerobics, swimming, gardening, walking the dog, vacuuming, etc. and the program converts the time into virtual miles you use to “walk” across the state. An online map lets you chart a virtual course across Georgia, learning interesting facts about the counties you visit as you go. Walk Georgia participants receive a personal weekly progress report and an online Walk Georgia newsletter.
