Georga...the nation's joke
How can the Mayor of Atlanta and the Governor of Georgia justify this morning’s comments of “how proud we are of the DOT and other support agencies”? This weather incident, for the second time in three years, provides a clear view of the lack of planning and coordination of our city, county, and state governments and their agencies.
Atlanta again is the joke of nation, with the rational, as stated by the Mayor of Atlanta, alluding to workers and students ‘being released at the same time’. How outrageous for him to mention that in front of the local and national media….a justification to his agencies as well as the state DOT again being unprepared for snowfall and ice conditions. Crews stuck in massive traffic jams? At 8am Tuesday morning, weather services reported that up to 2” of snow and ice could hit areas up to 50 miles north of prior forecasts. Why were those crews not deployed to key highway locations early on in the day?
Atlanta and local county agencies: you should be ashamed of your lack of preparation and planning….again.
