Family, Friends to Remember East Cobb Man

Nicholas W. Woltering, a Pope High alum, was killed early Monday in a single-vehicle accident.

The funeral for the 19-year-old East Cobb man who was killed early Monday in a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Johnson Ferry and Shallowford roads will be held this afternoon.

Nicholas W. Woltering will be remembered during a service at 3 p.m. at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Rd., according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Authorities do not know what prompted Woltering to leave the roadway. He was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital and pronounced dead, Pierce said.

In lieu of flowers, Woltering's family requests that donations be made to the Atlanta Humane Society. Woltering, an alum of Murdock Elementary, Dodgen Middle and Pope High schools, had a passion for animals, according to the MDJ.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 770-499-3987.
