East Cobb Lions Seek Meals on Wheels Volunteers for Christmas Day

You don't have to be a member to help spread holiday cheer in the community.

The following request comes from Liz and Ray Moore of the East Cobb Lions Club for volunteers to help deliver Meals on Wheels on Christmas morning. You don't have to be a member of the club:

Christmas is fast approaching and our largest and longest running (25 years plus!) service project along with it. More people outside the club are involved because of the impact this project has. It is becoming a community project which is a wonderful thing.

Even families with younger children and grandchildren can participate.

We color the bags that we stuff with candy and fruit and add a holiday message.

We sing carols and drink hot chocolate, then we deliver a warm meal to a Cobb senior who might otherwise be alone that day. It is a great way to share a wonderful time of year and teach and relearn the lessons of love and caring for others.

Can we count on you to be there to help?

Volunteers are asked to arrive at Powers Ferry United Methodist Church, 245 Powers Ferry Road, around 10:15 a.m. to obtain maps and help assemble and deliver food packages.

If you're interested in helping out, please contact Ray Moore at famousray@comcast.net or 770-425-7881.
