Kol Emeth Takes Part in Operation Isaiah

More than 2,800 of canned goods to assist the needy were donated by the East Cobb synagogue during High Holy Days.

From Jon Worly at East Cobb's Temple Kol Emeth:

Temple Kol Emeth in Marietta proudly announces a successful Operation Isaiah effort in which over 2,800 pounds of canned goods were donated to Atlanta Food Bank. Operation Isaiah is a joint effort by several Jewish congregations throughout Atlanta to replenish the overwhelming needs of food for those less fortunate.

During the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, congregants were encouraged to fill specially designed bags with non-perishable goods. The overwhelming response from not only congregants, but guests of the synagogue filled eighteen large barrels.

Denise Jacobs, senior temple administrator at Temple Kol Emeth says. “Each year, we will fill more and more barrels during High Holy Days which is such a tremendous mitzvah (good deed) performed by our congregants. We have several other food drives planned throughout the year so it’s a 365 day effort. We encourage the whole East Cobb community to become involved in our food drives.”
