A Cameroonian in Marietta...

Who knew that such a gem could exist in a small "strip mall-esque" row of stores located at the corner of Sandy Plains and Kinjac in Marietta.  And yet. There it is.  Possibly the only Cameroonian restaurant existing in East Cobb, and heck, probably even in the state of Georgia.  Chef Njike rules the kitchen and what a fabulous kitchen it is!  The food stands out for its subtlety - flavors that don't overpower but instead evolve tastes of Africa that seem so exotic and yet so familiar, and leave you wanting more.  His signature dish, Penja blackened snapper, served over western corn with a crawfish ragout reminds one for a fleeting moment of a Creole dish, but the nuances in flavor take you on a much longer journey.  Other stand-outs include fried plantains with a Mathilde vegetable sauce, and the beignet haricot - it's incredible that such a seemingly simple dish could be so amazing!  This restaurant is most definitely worth a visit.www.sundried.us
