The Children's Museum of Atlanta Celebrates 2 Millionth Guest!

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta celebrated a major milestone earlier this month by welcoming its 2 millionth guest. On Friday, January 10 around 11 a.m., Lisa Hamilton and her daughter received the surprise of the year with celebratory music, festive confetti and a special prize pack filled with passes to area attractions!

“I've been going to The Museum for years as a teacher with Dekalb County Schools,” said Hamilton. “The children in my classes always had such a good time there, so after my daughter was born it was one of the activities that I really looked forward to doing with her. We've visited a good bit this year but were not aware of the possibility of being the 2 millionth guest, so were really shocked, and super excited, when we walked in that day!”

As the lucky visitor, Hamilton received a renewed membership to The Children’s Museum, a $50 gift card to The Museum store, a year membership with LEGOLAND Discovery Center of Atlanta, Medieval Times passes and a family 4-pack to the Center for Puppetry Arts.

“We are so thrilled to reach this milestone!” said Jane Turner, the executive director of The Children’s Museum of Atlanta. “This surprise celebration was the perfect way to give back to the families that have helped us welcome so many visitors. We cannot thank the community enough for their continued support over the past eleven years, and we look forward to The Museum’s future!”

Since opening its door to Atlanta in 2003, The Children’s Museum has lead children from over 750 area schools and child development centers in creative, educational field trip programs; started The Imaginators, its troupe of professional actors who perform daily; offered thousands of free admissions to those families in need; launched its own bio-friendly bus to bring children to The Museum for whom safe, affordable transportation is unavailable; presented three new exhibit experiences each year; and continued to spark discovery and learning through the power of play.

“We really love The Museum and will continue visit as much as we can,” said Hamilton.
