9th Annual Out of the Darkness Walk

PLEASE NOTE: The walk takes place within Piedmont Park at the 12th Street entrance.

The 9th Annual Atlanta Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a 3.2 mile walk in Atlanta's Piedmont Park with proceeds benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

By walking in this walk, you will join tens of thousands nationwide to raise money for AFSP's vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide and provide support for survivors of suicide loss.  In deciding to walk, you are taking us a step closer to making suicide a national priority.

You can register by clicking the "Buy Tickets" link before Friday, November 2ND at noon or you may register at our event (minors must have parent or legal guardian sign for them at event).  Leashed dogs and children in strollers welcome. Make sure to bring a refillable water bottle as we're again 'going green'.

The Atlanta walk takes place rain or shine and can easily be halved (the 1.68 mile park loop is walked twice).  Take MARTA or park in the SAGE Parking Facility (all info available at www.piedmontpark.org under 'Visit The Park' -- allow time as it's about 10 minute walk from either place). Registration/check-in takes place from 1-2 pm; some music and speakers start the walk (which will promptly begin at 2pm).  Make sure to stop by our Survivors Area and stay for closing ceremonies.
