NOTE:

Of the

50 states, Georgia is projected to have the 12th highest number of new

cases of melanoma – the deadliest form of skin cancer – with an estimated 2,180

new cases expected in 2014. Men are particularly at risk, as men over 50 are at

a greater risk of developing melanoma than the general public; yet, only 18%

nationwide visit a doctor for an annual skin cancer screening, according to a

recent American Academy of Dermatology survey.

This year, the Falcons are RISING UP

and joining the American Academy of Dermatology’s  SPOT me campaign to raise

awareness of skin cancer and its risk factors and encourage people to make skin

health a priority by getting regular skin cancer screenings from a

board-certified dermatologist. The Falcons and

American

Academy of Dermatology are offering all fans a chance to get a FREE skin cancer

screening during the training camp kick-off weekend.

Everyone

who receives a skin cancer screening will be eligible to win memorabilia

autographed by Falcons’ players.
