News Nearby: Marietta Robbers Sought; Ex-Boxer Shot to Death

Cleveland “L.A.” Brady, 22, of Marietta, is wanted for two armed robberies. On Nov. 2, Brady, along with an unidentified accomplice, robbed the Viva Mexico Restaurant on Powder Springs Road, according to Marietta Police.

Police said Brady is also wanted for the robbery of a pizza delivery driver on Franklin Road, which occurred on Oct. 30, 2012.

The unidentified accomplice is a person of interest in multiple robberies along the Powder Springs Road corridor.

Former Boxer Shot to Death

A former pro boxer was wanted in Dunwoody for false imprisonment and battery related to incidents with his wife; a woman police say shot and killed him early Tuesday.

Roswell Man Indicted on Insider Trading Charges

A Roswell man who formerly headed investor relations for a major children's clothing company was indicted on conspiracy, securities and wire fraud in multi-state insider trading schemes.

Eric M. Martin, 42, of Roswell, former head of investor relations for Carter’s Inc., was charged by a federal grand jury today in connection with multi-year, multi-state insider trading schemes primarily involving Carter’s stock.

Carson Re-Elected to State House

State Rep. John Carson easily won re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives on Tuesday in the only contested legislative race in the East Cobb area in the general election. 

Carson, a Republican, easily defeated Democrat Kevin "Big Kev" Westphal for a full term representing District 46, which covers most of Northeast Cobb and portions of southern Cherokee.

Hill Wins District 6 Senate Race

One Smyrna incumbent will not be returning to the Georgia State Senate. Longtime Democrat Doug Stoner was defeated by Republican newcomer Hunter Hill in the District 6 Senate race during Tuesday's election.

The final, unofficial results show that Hill collected 35,299 votes, or 52 percent, to Stone's 32,233 votes, or 48 percent.

State Looking Into Fulton Voting Problems

The Georgia Secretary of State's office plans to investigate the Fulton Elections Board following numerous voter complaints on Tuesday.

Secretary of State Brian Kemp says the county could face fines for not being properly prepared for the elections. Following the 2008 Presidential election, Fulton faced $120,000 in fines.

Sharon Mitchell, Fulton's interim elections director, said in a news conference that Tuesday's problems were not as widespread as in other years.
