What To Do With Delk Spectrum?

Christos' Pizza is on the move and there's plenty of available space for shops. What would you like to see go there?

Not many East Cobb shopping centers have gone through a transformation quite like Delk Spectrum

Located at 2900 Delk Road, at the intersection of Powers Ferry Road, this retail center has been anchored for many years by a Publix supermarket.

But so many of the shops around it have left in recent years, and despite some new stores arriving, the 100,000-square-foot Delk Spectrum, managed by Regency Centers, has nearly 25,000 square feet of empty space.

That figure will grow when , with 3,740 square feet, moves to Terrell Mill Village Shopping Center next month, leaving Delk Spectrum with few food options.

There's a and soon a Jets' Pizza will open.

But the space formerly occupied by Outback Steakhouse has been dormant for years.

Another big vacancy is the former Blockbuster Video store.

Still, Delk Spectrum has a variety of recognized stores -- there's a Payless Shoe store, a T Mobile store, a UPS Store, a  store and a Liberty Tax Service office.

occupies the former Chapter 11 bookstore location and operates a full-service dentistry.

If you're a shopper at Delk Spectrum, what else would you like to see come in there? What shops, restaurants and other businesses would make this shopping center even more vibrant for you?

Tell us in the comments.

It was an Outback, not Longhorn.

As to your question, I would like something similar Outback back. Or, TGIFridays, etc... not haute cuisine but good, all purpose restaurants.

I'd like to see a Chili's, a Starbuck's, a smoothie place, and maybe a yoga studio

Expand Publix and bring it up to the same level as the Johnson Ferry location or replace with Trader Joes or Fresh Market. The car counts coming from 75 passing by Delk Spectrum going to all the better East Cobb n'hood's is HUGE. The center is old, tired and offers no reason to stop. What about fast casual like Mirko Pasta or 5 Guys? Where's the ice cream? The location is not the problem the LL needs to step up with a remodel and pay for a few tenants to get the center back on her feet again or sell.

Perhaps a Cobb County Police holding tank would work with the high crime in the area!

I would like to see a Charming Charlie's. I worked there when Cats at Delk Spectrum was there along with Outback. I don't think another large restaurant can do well with the parking situation.
