Petco Coming to East Cobb

The pet retail store is moving into the former Pet Supermarket space on Johnson Ferry Road.

East Cobb pet owners will soon have another major retail choice for pet supplies.

Petco will open soon in the former Pet Supermarket location at the Woodlawn Point shopping center on Johnson Ferry Road.

The store will also include the adjacent space by Sweet Spirit, the Christian book and gift store that has moved to the nearby Woodlawn Square Shopping Center.

Petco will be directly competing in East Cobb with  at Merchant's Walk Shopping Center, also located in the Johnson Ferry Road corridor. They are the two largest pet superstore chains in the country, according to Pet Business.

Petco, which has more than 1,100 stores in all 50 states, has other Cobb locations near Town Center and Cumberland malls.

PetSmart has a similar number of stores nationwide, and has stores in Acworth and Smyrna.

Thanks for giving preference to a new, national corporate mega-box store that doesn't care about the customer but only its bottom-line. How about East Cobb talking about the small businesses who are struggling out here instead? The ones who really care about their customers and give actual service and not just cashing out the customer and getting to the next one?

Well east Cobb does have 2 Red Bandana locations. Which is a small business in the pet industry. And let's not lie to ourselves, having a business is all about cashing out customers and getting the next one. That is the whole point of a business. So keep your feeling to yourself, prototypical non-conformist.
